Let’s take a look at the game

In Quarantine Zone you are in charge of a checkpoint in a zombie apocalypse. Your job is to ensure people trying to get in the safe zone are not infected. Also, check that they do not have body parts in their bag. You will also have to maintain and upgrade the checkpoint.

In order to do your job, you will get tools to help you. There is the scanner that will let you see through their clothes to check for symptoms. The flashlight lets you see easier. It also has UV light to let you see what the naked eye cannot. You also get a listening device to listen to their breathing. A cool thing about it is you can see their lungs. This helps to see if there is anything wrong. The thermometer lets you check their temperature as well as their pulse. There is also a syringe that will tell you if the person is infected or not. You have limited uses of the syringe. The last tool you get in the demo is a gun. You will need this if the survivor decides to attack you.

In the demo there are 3 locations to send the survivors. You can send them to the survivor block where they wait for evacuation. If they show symptoms that are not serious you can send them to quarantine. You check on them the next day and see if their symptoms have improved, or they turn into a zombie. If they are showing extreme symptoms, or have been bitten, you will send them to liquidation. This way, you will never have to worry about them again. You earn money for sending survivors to the survivor’s block. You also receive money if you send the correct person to liquidation. You will get a penalty if you send the wrong person to liquidation. You can send an infected person to the survivor’s block where they could attack and kill other survivors.

There are plenty of symptoms to keep an eye out for. You will have to look for bruises, red bruises, bit marks, scratches even herpes. You will also need to check their pulse and temperature to make sure there not infected. You also check out their lungs. You listen to their breathing to see if they have infected breathing. You look for coughing or even sneezing. Some symptoms will require them to be quarantine others will need to be liquidated. There are plenty of other symptoms to look out for. You will also need to check their belongings. Ensure they are not bringing weapons. Check for infected items or body parts.

To help break up the routine of just looking at symptoms, you will have a new task. You will also have to defend the wall from a zombie attack. When an attack happens, you will control a drone. It is equipped with a few weapons. More weapons can be purchased. Like a bomb or air strike and you can buy bait that attracts zombies then explodes. You can fly around the area and take down all the zombies you will lose if the wall gets destroyed. This was a nice change of pace and fun to do. This is done in night vision mode.

Just like the zombie attack when you evacuate survivors you will escort them to safety. Here you also control the drone but this time it’s like a on rails shooter. You still can use the bombs, air strike or bait. You will lose if the trucks get destroyed. This also done in night vision mode.

When it comes time to evacuate the survivors. You will need to assign them to a truck the trucks have limited amount of space. You might have to leave survivors at the block and have them wait for the next evacuation. Some trucks might only take certain survivors like only woman. After assigning the survivors to the truck, you will have to escort them as mentioned above.

The image shows a computer screen for an "Evacuation" scenario. Instructions prompt the user to choose a truck to evacuate Jorn Morris, suggesting the option to leave him behind. A profile area details Jorn Morris's information: name, surname, male, age 32, city Boston, street Staple ST. A central live-view camera shows a street scene with Jorn Morris, a woman, and another man in the background. Truck options are displayed to the right: a "Blue Truck" allows "any" evacuees, while a "Red Truck" allows only "female" evacuees. A "Symptom Selected" area is below the profile. The bottom provides an instruction to finish evacuation only after all survivors have been assigned and a "Finish Evacuation" button.

Should You Play?

Yea this is a really fun papers please type of game. Now this is just the demo. I did not want to assign it a score. I will save that for the full game. The graphics are nice for this style of game there is a bug that happens sometimes with the graphics. It looks like when the head and body connect, it sometimes appears as if there is a cut on them. However, the cut moves when the character moves their head. But that is a minor bug and I’m sure it will be fixed in the full release.

Overall, it was really fun. I had a good time playing. I am excited to see what the full game will be like. There is going to be upgrading the survivors block that seams cool. I’m sure the drone sections will get harder the further you make it in game.
