Let’s take a look at the game

This time around I am going to be talking about a game called Top Slime. In Top Slime, you start as a weak slime. You must defeat waves of enemies to reach the boss. As you defeat waves of enemies & bosses you will get meat and coins.

MEAT!! meat is the most important resource you will get in the game. You will use the meat to feed the chest. As you feed the chest you will get equipment. At first you will get low level gear but as you level up your chest using coins. As you use coins to level your chest it will also take time to upgrade. You can speed this up using items or with guild help. Your chest will have better odds of giving you higher rarity equipment as you level it. You will want to be constantly upgrading the chest it’s very important.

The chest also has an auto feed feature. This feature is excellent. It allows you to keep playing the game seamlessly. It just opens the chest for you automatically. There are some parameters you can set up. At first this was a lot to look at but as you explore it it all starts to make sense. You can have it only show you gear of a certain rarity or higher. You also can have it show you the gear if it has the stat you are looking for. I did not use this setting during my time playing this game. I did use the times opened setting. This lets you open the chest multiple times at once. It starts at only 1 but goes up to 20. This speeds up this part of the game as you will get thousands of meats a day playing this game.

This game has a fantastic feature. Most of the equipment you find will change the way your slime looks. This allows some really cool and funny slime creations. A great part of this game is you can edit your slime’s appearance. You can put on any of the gear you have gotten. This is just cosmetic and does not change the equipment you have on. It’s great for people who want their slime to look a certain way.

You will defeat waves of enemies and bosses. As you progress, you will move to new areas that have a different look. Each area features a new boss for you to fight. When you make it to the end of the levels you will move up in difficulty. This brings you back to the first level. In higher difficulty you will get more meat and coin. There are a good amount of difficulties to climb through. You will also find yourself stuck on a level sometimes. You will need to get more meat and hope you get better gear. You also can have a friend help you but more on that later.

As you play this game and open the chest you will get experience and level up. Once you reach a certain level you get to evolve. There are 3 paths you can take as you evolve. They are Warrior, Mage or Ranger. Each of these paths also have paths for you to choose form. A great thing this lets you do is freely look at all the paths. This is really nice and helped me make my decision.

Later on, in this game as you level up you will get mounts. Mounts are great they give you a great stat boost. A really cool part of mounts is that once you level your mount up enough, it will evolve. It evolves into a new mount. When this happens, you get a big stat boost. I got a great piece of advice on mounts from the game chat. The advice was to save your diamonds. Diamonds are the game’s premium currency that you earn for free while playing. Save them until you can get the cart of mount EXP fruit. This will let you level your mount a lot and you will get a good boost in stats. Making your slime stronger.

There is also an artifact. The artifact is like the mount in the way of it will make your slime stronger. Unfortunately, you cannot buy the material needed to level up the artifact. You will have to earn the material though playing the game and slowly level it up.

Another way to enhance your slime is with Phantasm’s. You can have 6 Phantasm’s equipped. An interesting thing about Phantasms is that you can only equip 1 Phantasm of each quality. There are 30 Phantasm each with a level and 4 traits that unlock as you level them up. You way you get Phantasm is through you guessed it a Gacha. You earn the resource needed to summon through playing the game. Just like skills and pets the more of the same phantasm you get the more it levels up.

Fear not little slime you will not be going on your adventure alone. You will be able to take 5 pets with you on your quest to be the best. The bad news is once you unlock pets you will only be able to take 1 with you. As you make it further in the game you will get more pet slots. The most common way will get pets is the pet summoning. This is one of the Gacha that this game has. You can use pet coupons or diamonds to summons pets. Pets do have different rarity and the more you use a Gacha the more it will level. Increasing your odds of getting a better rarity pet. If you get the same pet, you can level it up making the pet stronger. It is recommended by the community to only use your coupons and not to use diamonds to get pets.

The second Gacha this game has is the skills Gacha. Just like with pets you start with 1 and as you play you will get 5 skills slots to use. For skills you can set them to auto and they will be used once ready. You can also turn auto off and choose when to use the skills. Just like the pets one you use skill coupons to summon skills. The more you use the skill summon, the more it will level. It will give you better odds at getting higher rarity skills. As you get duplicate skills you can level the skills up. I found that the auto equip feature for skill only equips skill of the highest rarity. This is not the best I recommend equipping a healing or shielding skill. Once I did this, I was able to beat a lot more levels.

Other than the levels you make your way through there are also dungeons for you to complete. As of writing this there are 7 dungeons in the game. The dungeons have a limited number of times you can complete them a day. Each dungeon will give you a different resource including. Diamonds there are 2 dungeons that give you this. Island Pursuit will give you meat. The more you complete this dungeon, the more meat you will get. The rest of the dungeons will give you mount EXP, Artifact EXP and Phantasm material. The last dungeon is a maze that gives you better rewards based on how well you do.

Friends are so helpful in this game. You can borrow your friends slime to help you fight a boss or help you in a dungeon. You can add random people in the game and you get to see there power level before friending them. You only get to use help from your friends 3 times a day so choose carefully.

Next up lets talk about the village that you have. There are a good amount of building in the village for you to use. Let’s start with the alchemy workshop.  Here you research ways to make your slime stronger like more HP or more strength. There are several methods to improve your village. For instance, you can gather more food for the eatery. I will talk about the eatery next.  This will take coins you get from a different building in your village and real time to research.

Let’s talk about the Wonderous Eatery. Here you will server customers food.  You will need to combine food to make it the right level for the customer.  You only have a set number of pulls to use to get more food each day. This is there so you don’t spend all day in the eatery.  I just go to this building once a day.  Once you serve the food you will get the coins needed for the workshop and even diamonds sometimes.

Next up is the Treasure Trove.  Here you will use you pets to get you the loot.  This can be meat, coins, gems or even pets.  This takes real time and you can only have 3 pets getting items at the same time. An interesting feature of the trove is sometimes you will have to compete against other players for the loot.  You are also limited on 20 items a day.

Let’s talk about the Baby Ranch next.  Here you hatch eggs and then the creatures from the eggs will give you a special resource.  This all take real time.  You start with 1 pen and will get more as you level up the Ranch.  Sometimes you will get wood need to upgrade the buildings inside the ranch.  These make the eggs hatch faster or give you more pens.  You also can steal from other players ranch this also takes real time.

The last building as of writing this is the Divination House.  Here you use that special resource you get from the Ranch.  You use the resource to divine a buff.  You get more slots the more you use the divine.  Some of the buffs you can get are pet damage up,  skill damage up, even just straight up attack up.  Each of these buffs have a grade next to them like a C or B with the B being better.  You can lock the ones you like in place so you don’t lose it during the divine.  The buff you get is random.

There is an Arena you will take part in.  For each opponent you beat you will get meat.  You start with 3 attempts, and you get more as you open the chest.  You can select sweep on the person below you. Use all the attempts you have. This way, you get the meat faster.

Lastly you can join a guild. In the guild, you can help fellow guild members with their building or research. This assistance decreases the amount of time it takes to complete. You can also donate to the guild to help level up the guild and get some resources. There is a guild shop where you use guild money to buy things like meat. There is also a war you can participate in when its active. The dragon trove where you fight a dragon and the more damage you do the more rewards you get. A greedy spirit wanders around your guild. When you find him, you get resources. You can find him 3 times a day.

Should You Play?

Yes this game is so much fun and free. I didn’t even talk about the visuals of this game. They are great and well done. The cartoonist art style works so well with the bright colors. All the character models have a black outline to make them pop. The backgrounds look hand drawn and are so good looking. This game is easily one of the best-looking mobile games I have played.

This game is a blast to play getting new gear that is better than what you got. Especially later in the game when you use 1000+ meat to get the equipment feels so good. Finally getting past a level, you were stuck on is also a great feeling.

With this being a mobile game there is a lot of places to spend money. I did not spend any money on this game, and I felt I was able to progress just fine. As of writing this, people in the game chat are saying that the game is in beta. They mention that it will have a full wipe on full release. You will be compensated for any money you spend in the beta. This does make sense. One day I was playing and people were talking about spending money on this game. One person said they bought the no ads pack. That got me thinking I did not see a single forced ad in this game. I than found out that ads are broken and will be fixed in the full release.
