Let’s take a look at the game

In highway overtake you control a fixer upper of a car.  The goal is to get cash upgrade your car and win a set amount of races.  When you press and hold on the screen your car will go faster and you will earn money.

You will be upgrading your stamina this will slow you to press and hold longer and earn more money.  Power this will make your car go faster.  And income this will let you earn more money faster.

Along with those upgrades you can also upgrade the car itself. You can fix the body then paint it.  You can fix the window put on bad parts things like that.  Not only will these make your car look better than also have a buff to your car.  Some of the buffs are armor so you can take more hits more on that later.  You also can get stamina power or income increases.

As you play, you will get new car parts, paints, or decals. You can use these to customize the looks of your car.  These do not give a buff there just for looks.  You also will need the corresponding upgrade to use the parts.  For example in order to use a new license plate you must first get the license plate upgrade.

The races so far have been very straightforward for me. You have a set amount of time to reach the finish.  You drive in the right lane until you press on the screen than you go into the left lane.  You will use this to snake your way through traffic to get to the finish.  This is where armor comes in handy just in case you hit a car.  Some of the races have two lanes with one lane for each direction. Others have two lanes going the same direction.

Once you finish the set amount of races, you get to use a new car. Then, you do it all over again.  The upside to this is your will make more money the more cars you go through.  You also can go back to any of your cars anytime you want.  There are 4 cars or as they call them projects in each division.  Once you reach the new division your income resets and it is like stating the game over.

The cars you will fix up start with broken windows damaged body in the first division.  To missing parts like no hood or no head or tail lights in the later divisions. Even a giant rock on the roof.

The best part of this game, for me, is the events. The event I took part in has you racing against other players. Or the AI of the other player. It was so much fun ramming each other it make them crash into the traffic.  You will also have to play defense and block them from passing you.

There are other events as well. One event involves taking a car from bad condition to amazing condition. You get rewards based on distance driven, amount of overtakes, and how many times you have upgraded your states. You take the reward into the main game.

Another great part of the game is every 6 minutes you get to use a formula 1 car. You can earn money faster for 30 seconds. You also can watch an ad to use it sooner.  I did find this not only helpful but also fun to use.

You will also get clothing for the driver.  I really don’t know why you can customize the driver but you can.

Should You Play?

Yes this game is worth playing. I found the game controls simple and well done they felt good as a player. The concept of the game is cool taking a car that has seen better days and restoring it is fun. The number of different cars is great you could end up fixing a supercar or a jeep it’s great. The game does repeat itself for every new car. However, it does not get boring, at least not for me.

It was cool seeing how damaged the cars are when you get them. They could just be scratched up or a giant rock on the hood. The giant rock adds some comedic value to the game. Mix in the events you participate in. You will always have something to do in this game.
