Is Cats Story Worth Your Time? Game Evaluation

Cat Story, a mobile game released on March 18, 2025, allows players to manage a cat-run restaurant by buying upgrades and hiring staff. However, it suffers from repetitive gameplay and intrusive ads, leading to a lackluster experience. The reviewer strongly advises against playing, suggesting better alternatives.

Let’s take a look at the game

In Cat Story you control a cat that owns a restaurant.  You walk around spending your money buying tables and cooking stations.  You will also buy event areas as well as V.I.P sections there is even a drive through. 

As your customers order and eat there food you will make money.  You will also have to go and clean the tables and recycle the waste.

You will hire staff to do the work for you.  You can also spend you money one hiring more staff or upgrading the staff.  The staff does start slow and only able to hold one food.

You will also be able to upgrade you cat.  With speed and carry also there is a profit boost you can get.

The are boost and money you can watch ads for.  These will help you move faster or carry more or just flat out give you money.  I didn’t find these necessary. I would get the money and use the gems that the game gave me instead of watching an ad.

When you have bought enough upgrades in the restaurant you will be able to open a new restaurant.  This restaurant will serve a new food.

You do not take the upgrades to your cat with you.  Those stay with that restaurant.

You will take any money you have with you to help start the new restaurant. You will do the same thing you did in the first restaurant over again.  There are 5 restaurants for you to upgrade at the time of writing this.

Should You Play?

NO this was not a very enjoyable game.  The repetitive gameplay with nothing new introduced with the new restaurants was very boring.

Then there is the ads I know with this being a free mobile game there was going to be ads.  But this game has forced ads that interrupt the game.  These ads add to the not very enjoyable experience.  There is an option to remove ads with money.
