Let’s take a look at the game
In Fights in Tight Spaces you are an agent that must deal with threats using your fist and feet. As you make your way along the map you will have to fight enemies in tight spaces. The arenas you fight in are really small sometimes, like only 6×6 spaces. Others can be about 10×10 or so spaces.
At the start of combat, you draw cards and can use as many of them as possible on your turn. Some cards cost momentum to use you start with 3 momentum some cards will give you more. Cards you use can build your combo and some cards need a certain amount of combo. After your turn the enemy will attack or do other actions. You can tell what the enemy is going to do by hovering over them. You can use this information to help you make decisions on your turn. At the end of your turn, discard all remaining cards in your hand. However, you can use a card to keep it.
When you win a fight, you will be given the option to add a new card to your deck. You can also say no to this if there is nothing that will work with your deck.
Cards you can use include punches and kicks. As well as pushes and throws. You can also gain block and use counter cards. Block will absorb damage until no more block. Counter will have you attack an enemy that hits you they must be within range. A cool part of this game is using 2 counter cards. You will hit an enemy twice when they hit you.
Some card will need you to stun the enemy first before you can use it. Be mindful of this and don’t grab cards that need stunned enemies if you can’t stun them.
A real fun part of this game’s combat is the ability to move the enemy into another enemy’s attack. This way, the enemy will hit their own friend. This is a strategy you will want to be aware of as you plan your turn.
You can also throw or kick your enemy out of the map to instantly kill them. Be careful your enemy can also throw you off the map. Some of the maps have windows you will need to break in order to throw them off the map.
On lower difficulties you get to rewind and start your turn over. This can be helpful if you’re in a real tough spot and need to try a different strategy.
There are all sorts of cards in the game that will allow you to build some fun decks. You also unlock more as you complete or fail runs and level up.
Each fight will have secondary objectives that can give you more money or heal you.
The enemies you will fight can be basic enemies that fight you head on. Others will have guns and shoot you from afar. The more difficult ones to deal with are the ones that counter you or cant be moved. There are even some that can’t be attacked from the front. You must know the types of enemies you are up against. Develop a good strategy to handle them.
After the fight you can watch the fight replay. This is a really cool feature you watch the fight likes it’s a movie. There will be different camera angles and no user interface. I do wish the replays were speed up a little there can be strange pauses. I really like this feature. Sometimes, I plan my turn to look cool on the replay.
There are other points of interest in the levels other than combat. There is a hospital that you can use to heal or increase max HP this will cost money. You can also go to the gym. There, you can upgrade cards. You can also discard unwanted cards to thin out your deck. The gym also cost money. There is also an event space. This can provide a variety of outcomes. Sometimes, they’re really good. Other times, it can put you into a tough fight.
If you fail a fight, you can restart it. You can also go back to the map and choose a different way. I don’t know if this is possible on higher difficulties.
Each mission ends in a boss fight. In this fights you only need to defeat the boss to win the fight. These fights can be really challenging the boss has a lot of health and can call in reinforcements.
After you finish you first run of the game you will unlock the option the choice to pick a difficulty. You will also be given the option to do a draft for your starter deck. You pick a card from multiple cards until you have a deck. As you finish runs or fail them, you will get experience. As you level up, you will unlock new cards. You will even unlock new starter decks.
On your second run on you will be given the chose on what mission you will start on. Be mindful that if you start on later mission, you will not have the rewards from the previous missions. this will make the run harder unless you draft an amazing starter deck. There are 5 missions in the base game.
The difficulties you can choose from range from easy. You move first, always draw a movement card, and can rewind your turn. Then there is Brutal no rewinds enemies move first and if the ambassador dies you lose. It also says turn limit are increases but you lose if you miss one.

Should You Play?
Yes for the price of this game which is $25 not on sale its worth it. The replays are so much fun to watch back. The arenas you fight in are great.
The RNG in this game can make it so your deck is not exactly what you want. But that just adds to the replay value of this game.
This game is very unique and very well done I highly recomend you try it out. There is also DLC that I did not try that adds weapons and gives you a gun-fu inspired deck. The devs also made a new game. It’s called Knights in Tight Spaces. I’m looking forward to trying it out one day.
