Let’s take a look at the game

In this action game full of Hindu folklore. You must defeat demons in order to rescue your brother. Along the way, you will receive gifts from the gods. These gifts are in the form of weapons to help you defeat the demons. Each level you play through will end in a boss fight with the exception of one.

The weapons you will get along your adventure are the trident a very versatile weapon. The bow a great weapon to deal with enemy’s from afar. Sword and Shield and great weapon to fight up close and personal. The Final weapon is the Chakra the most powerful weapon in the game. Each weapon has a basic attack’s and a second ability.

The combat in this game rewards thought out button presses rather than button mashing. You will be timing your dodges and then following up with your attacks. There is a flow to this game. For me, it involves dodging, then doing a light or heavy attack, and repeating. You also have a special attack you can perform once it builds up. You can also run up walls and perform attacks. You can use poles in combat. You can swing around on them or run up them. You can also do attacks like the walls.

As you damage an enemy you will be prompted to press a button. If you do this you will do a finishing animation on the enemy and recover health.

There are 3 elements you can attach to your weapons as well in this game. Each weapon can have one element on it at a time. The elements are Lightning, Ice and Fire. I really like the Ice element it can freeze the enemy than they shatter killing them a whole lot faster. These elements can be powered up by finding skill points throughout the levels. These points can be moved around freely you don’t have to worry about saving them.

As for the enemies you will fight in this game, they are not too bad. There a few that can be annoying but the more you fight them the easier they become. Also, if you’re having a hard time with an enemy try switching your weapon. Sometimes, enemies have the most irritating attack patterns. Their timing can be so precise that there is no time to counterattack. I found it best just to lose these fights as death is really not bad at all. When you die you come back right before the fight with full health.

The boss fight are cool and a great change of pace from the rest of the game. There is one boss that you do not fight but it is a really cool of the game. I do want to talk about the final boss. I played the game using a controller and it was fine until I got to the final boss. I could not beat him on the controller. Then I found out in the enhanced edition of the game, they made the final boss much harder. I did get a tip to try using mouse and key. So, I did and I beat the final boss on my first try using mouse and key. The reason for this was the Chakra on controller moves with the left stick that also moves your character. On mouse and key, the Chakra moves with the mouse. You can constantly attack the final boss while continually dodging. It was amazing how easy it was using mouse and key. The Chakra feels overpowered on mouse and key.

There are some puzzles for you to complete. These puzzles require you to rotate and align the pieces. It is really easy and nothing to worry about.

The platforming and parkour you have to do as you explore the levels is not bad. Sometimes it does feel bad when you jump to your death and wonder why did the character move that way. But for the most part it controls very well.

Should You Play?

Yes but find this game on sale. While I really did enjoy my time with this game I don’t think its worth the full price.

The art style for this game is really cool. The cutscenes are told through puppets. It is so unique and well done. As for the music it is good I can’t say if its authentic Hindu music, but it is enjoyable. I did find that if you take your time in some areas, the music has a very strange loop to it. However, once you continue, a little more gets added to the music. The loop is not bad after.

As for the difficulty it’s not hard. Just sometimes the attack patterns with multiple enemies can be annoying. If you plan to fight the final boss on controller, be prepared. This will be one of the hardest games you will play. I saw some people online saying it took them 10+ hours to beat the final boss on controller.
