Let’s take a look at the game

The goal of Dice vs Monsters is to defend your wall using different hero’s rolling dice to attack. As you take out enemies you gain experience points to level up. On level up you get to pick for 3 spells. You can also watch an ad sometimes to get all 3.

Your wall can be upgraded using coins you earn from playing. The upgrades are health increases the amount of health your wall has. Regen this heals your wall over time. There is a 3rd upgrade but it’s locked until level 100.

You can also equip Talismans on your wall. These can range from Army of One this increases attack by 20% if there’s only 1 hero. To Vampirizer that recovers 20% of killed enemies’ health to restore the castle’s health.

Each hero has a different dice they use. The hero’s dice has 3 different attacks with 1 attack only having 1 side. The dice have a number on each side that’s how many of the attack will be used. Heroes can be leveled up the levels can give you more attacks on a dice side or a stat increase. This can be damage or speed even critical chance. Each hero also has their own spells you can unlock and upgrade. I highly recommend upgrading spells I did not do this at first and it made the game more difficult.

After you finish a level, there is a good chance to get a spell pack. I have finished levels and not received one, but that is rare. You will pick one card and you will unlock that spell. The cards are turned around so you cannot tell what they are. If you get a duplicate, you get gems. Spells can be simple ones like grow. This increases the number of attacks on a dice side or multiple dice sides. There are spells that work together like the Mage has frags and lava. Frags make explosions that hit multiple enemies, while Lava leaves behind a pool of lava. Together, the fire sides of the dice make lava the width of the battlefield. If you have a lot of fire attacks, you can cover the battlefield in lava. I recommend getting the spells that work together quickly. Then, increase the number of attacks for the sides you need. This is of course if the RNG allows it.

You start the levels picking 1 hero out of 3 random heroes out of the ones you have unlocked. As you level up in the level there is a chance that you can get another hero. This can be a good thing if the hero you started with is struggling. On the other hand, this can also be bad. When you level up, the cards can be for any of the heroes you are using. Meaning it can be harder to get the spells you’re looking for.

Once you finish a level you will get materials to level your heroes and spells. The game will let you watch an ad to double the amount you get. I recommend you do this it helps out a lot.

As for the heroes they all have their own play style that makes them fun to play. There is a Gorilla. He is my favorite so far. His dice sides are banana, coconut, and what I think is supposed to be mud. But since it’s a Gorilla, it’s poop. He has two spells that work so well together. Banana Bomb that makes every 5th banana a bomb. Spikey Nuts that makes the coconuts spikey and deal more damage. Together you get Coconut Bomb that turn some of the coconuts into bombs. This combo is great because if uses two different sides of the dice.

Some other Heroes are the Archer that uses arrows and daggers. He can cause bleed and poison. There is Necro that uses bones and skulls. He can cause enemies to run away. Oozifer It can summon out 3 different slimes. There is the slime that moves slowly moves to the enemy and attacks. There is a jumpy slime and a dashing slime that you can get a spell that gives them swords. Oozifer is a lot of fun it great seeing a bunch of slimes taking down your enemies. The Knight is a cut ghost in a suit of armor. Knight uses swords, axes and shields. The sword has a spell that lets them bounce around. The shield has a spell that lets them hit multiple times. It also pushes the enemies back. There are others like the Jester that is an event that I have not unlocked yet. There are also 2 heroes you can buy using real money. Their prices are way too expensive. I cannot recommend buying them. I mean the Tinker is $45 WHAT that is crazy.

Showing the Gorilla hero. A gorilla with a banana with a bit taken out. wearing a yellow cape.

Should You Play?

This game is a lot of fun. Its great seeing a crazy amount of attacks flying around destroying the enemies. That being said, this game runs ads in the middle of a level. For this reason, I cannot recommend this game personally. If the ads were at the start or end of the level, I would be okay with that. However, placing ads in the middle of a level is just bad design.

The other thing is there is 7 different levels with their own enemy. After the 7th it just starts over again but the numbers keep going up. Hopefully they add more levels with new enemies

The game is less than a year old so maybe they will change the ad problem.
