Let’s take a look at the game
In Ghost Invasion you are a ghost hunter task with the mission to get rid of the ghost. You do this with a ray gun. As you catch ghost, you will get resources and XP. You will use the resources to upgrade yourself and your ray gun. XP will level you up to gain access to more of the map.
Most immortally there is NO stamina you can play as long as you want. There are some quests that need time to finish. But you can still gather resources and upgrade as that finishes. It is so nice to play a mobile game with no energy/stamina to limit how much I can play.
The ghost you will be catching for the most part don’t attack you. There are some that will though. There are also bosses that you will have to catch these will attack. There is much you can do when it comes to combat. I found moving around to try and doge the attacks just was not worth it. I just stand still and take it if I die, I know I need to increase my power or health.
Each type of ghost has a resource attached to it. Some will give you Soul Packs. These are used a lot in upgrading. You will also get Yellow Essence this are mainly used at the Armory more on that later. The other resource you will be collecting are Elixirs. These come in many colors from Blue, Green, Red and Yellow and maybe more, further into the game. These are also used in upgrading.
There are farms as well on the map. These gather the resource passively over time. The two I have found are Soul Farm gathers Soul Packs. Blue Elixir Farm this one gathers Blue Elixirs for you over time. The farms can get upgraded in two categories. Income determines how fast it gathers. Capacity determines how much it can hold before you will need to empty it. After you upgrade them to a certain point, you will need to upgrade the farm itself. This upgrade costs gems that are slow to gather for free.
You can use resources you gather on machines to exchange them for a different resource. I have found two of these so far. One exchanges Yellow Essence for Soul Packs. There are other, much more useful exchanges. What I call Broken Essence. I can’t remember what they are really called, and I cannot find the name in the game. It’s the one resource so far you can’t buy with real money.
There is also the Automation Hub on the map. This is cool it gives you a catcher bot. That runs around and catches ghost for you. You can increase its power and backpack size. You also get a Deliverer Bot. This little guy will come to you and take what it can and deliver it to the van. You can also increase its backpack size. You can get more that one of each it will cost gems that again are slow to get for free.
As for the Armory here you use Yellow Essence for upgrades. The Armory has a star rank once you upgrade all that’s available. You than have to upgrade the armory that will give you a stat boost. You can upgrade health, damage, and backpack size in the Armory. You can also increase speed, collect extra souls, gain more XP, and more. Including some that unlock as you increase the rank of the Armory.
I should mention that you yourself have a backpack size. When full you need to go to the van and empty your backpack.
You also can upgrade more by hitting the dude’s face in the bottom right. Here you can upgrade damage, backpack size, and more. You can also upgrade how many rays come out of your ray gun.
There are quest for you to complete there are basic ones. Catch the new ghost or upgrade the new machine. There are also bigger quest like gather these colored gems 8 in total. Once You get all 8 you unlock a new area. You will also gather portal parts to complete the portal. The portal will give you a quest every 4 hours.
The second area has an interesting mechanic its cursed. The longer you stay in the cursed area the more cursed you become. The curse lowers your stats. The new area also introduces more resources for you to gather and exchange of others. You can also get a new drop off point that will cost you 250 gems.
Should you play?
Yes, it’s a good game that does not limit how long you can play. That is a big bonus for me. while the gameplay loop does get tiresome and gather the resource you need can feel really slow. You get to be a ghost buster and that’s cool. I did find some afk spots you could use if you really wanted to. But this is a good game to play while watching TV. All while the ghost buster theme song play in your head on repeat.
This being a free mobile game there are plenty of ads none you are forced to watch. You can watch an ad to get a little bit of resources. You also can get gems for watching an ad it’s not a lot, but it does add up overtime. Gems really are the slowest to gather for free.
You also can pay to get things faster, but I fell you don’t need to. Well, maybe for gems if you’re really into this game.
Overall, it’s a free game. That you can lose track of time in and are not limited to how long you can play.
