Archero 2 is a roguelike mobile game where you play as a new hero who must save the world. Available on both android and apple. Lets find out if this free mobile game is worth playing.

Released on January 6th 2025

In this game you control the hero using one finger. You attack with your weapon only when standing still unless you get a skill. As you beat waves of enemies and level up you will get to choose one skill to get. These can range from attack speed up to a little buddy to help you and fire automatically even while moving.

You will also come across Valkyrie that will let you learn a new skill. Then the devil may appear after a boss fight the devil will take make HP to get a skill. Sometimes you get to spin a wheel you can spin for rewards.

There are plenty of stages to play through. In some, you must get through waves of enemies. My favorite is survival, where you must survive a set amount of time. In survival mode you get to make some really fun builds and just destroy the enemy. After you finish your run depending on how far you made it you can get rewards for your progress. Each run cost energy

There is also a hunt feature. It lets you collect rewards based on real time. You can do quick hunt for more rewards by watching ads or using energy.

The equipment in the game gives you stat buffs as well as skills based on the rarity of the equipment. You can get different weapons. When you get enough of the same equipment you can fuse them together to increase the rarity.

The ruins in this game enhance your skills you get during your run as well as stats increases. Runes have a shape to them so they only go into certain slots. They have different rarities. You can increase these rarities in the same way as equipment by combining multiple of the same ones.

Talent cards give you stat boosts and various effects that effect your run such as healing on level up. Getting more gold and first skill selection chance +1. You draw talent cards using gold as you draw more cards the cost will increase. If you pull the same talent card, you already have it will rank up increasing the effect. They also have a rarity to them making the rarer ones harder to pull.

You can play as different characters if you unlock them, they have different abilities.

We have to talk about the Microtransactions and there is plenty being this is a free game and all. Let’s start with the battle pass there is 3 tiers the first is free. Then there is the advance pass for $9.99 and the Luxury pass for $25.99. I personally would never pay for these but the option is there.

There are also Privilege cards that cost real money. Some of these are lifetime ad-free, lifetime supply card this on gives you 800 gems (there premium currency) each day. There is the Hunting warrior card. It gives unlimited quick hunts. It also increases max energy by 20 and AFK rewards by 20%. As I unlocked more features. I unlocked the option for more cards. There may be some I don’t know about yet.

These are just some of the Microtransactions in the game. There are always new ones that keep popping up.

There are free rewards you can get by signing in for 7 days as well as. Daily quests for various rewards including gems as the last rewards. Weekly quests give you more rarer rewards. As well as achievements that give you gems as a reward. There are activities happening all the time that I want to call events. However, there is a section in the game already called events. I don’t know what to call them, but they offer even more free rewards.

Now for the events that are in the game labeled events the ones I have unlocked are.

Arena this event is interesting. It’s a spectating mode where you and your opponent get 3 random skills. You watch them fight. It is a fun game mode I enjoy seeing the combos of skills and what they can do together. As for the rewards you get scrolls for upgrading and gold. There is 4 tiers Bronze, Gold, Diamond and Master.

Gold Cave has you survive 10 waves of enemy with gold being the rewards you get the most of. After you complete a run, the difficulty increases.

Rune Ruins is a fun little minigame. You dig up spots on a grid. These spots can increase the rarity of runes or the amount of runes you get. Get 2 keys and the game ends and you open the chest.

Should You Play?

This game is a good time experimenting with different combos not knowing what you’re going to get next. I really enjoy the graphics and art style. The game feels great to play you can move you character using any part of the screen. There seems like there is always something to do or upgrade to keep you wanting to play more. With plenty of levels to complete it seems you will have plenty to do.

With that being said, YES i do think this game is worth playing. The game is free. I personally am going to keep it that way. However, there are things to spend money on if you so choose.
