Miside is a horror game. You take care of a virtual girl. One day, she brings you into her world. Can you escape? and why did she bring you into her world and why was there a chainsaw in the stove? These are the questions you will need to answer in this cutesy horror game.

The game does support multiple languages and some different voice acting languages but not English voice acting. This game also features jump scares and sensitive subjects all might not be comfortable with.

You start the game off with a text telling you about this new app. In the app, you take care of this girl named Mita. You put away her clothes and help her cook. You also earn money to buy her a TV. Until one day she decides to bring you to her side or as she says it “myside”.

I have to point out that the subtitles in this game are the coolest I have ever seen. They float by the character that’s talking and fall to the floor after they’re spoken. If there’s a desk or table under them, they will land on it for a second before disappearing.

You must travel through the different versions of the game to reach the core while trying to avoid Crazy Mita. Each version of the game has a different Mita and style of game. One version is like the game P.T, another version has you running away from Mita models that chase you if you look at them. One version I really like is the sleepy Mita or the lazy update as I feel it is referencing.

One Version I will say is so cool was they way they did the visual novel one. It has one of the coolest moments in the game. It had me going WOW that was really well done 10 out of 10.

As you meet these other Mita’s you get to play games with them like Penguin piles a snowball collecting game. Space car a kart racer with a boss fight at the end. You even get to play a dancing rythem game like DDR. One of my favorites was the boomer shooter. It was a lot of fun. There is also a card game and a big button game with a hammer.

One really cool thing with this game is its interactive features. If you mention you like how she looks in glasses, she will keep them on. You find these glasses during the game.

There are some collectibles to find they are cartridges that give you character profiles. The puzzles the game has are not very hard there is connect the dots, chase people to a door. Simple stuff like that. Some puzzles will unlock clothes that you can have Mita wear.

They introduce you to an alternate path early on. One of the requirements is to beat the main story. There are some other requirements, but they are not difficult.

When you do the alternate path, it unlocks a new game mode Peaceful Mode. As of writing this peaceful mode is not in the game yet. According to the devs it says expect heartfelt one-on-one conversations, sharing cookies, playing games and plenty of hilarious moments together.

Should You Play?

YES this game was a wonderful experience that has got some jump scares. I really enjoyed the story. I liked going through the different versions of the game. Meeting different Mita’s was well done. playing minigames as a break from the horror was nice and some of them are fun.

The game is well made overall, and it feels great to play. There are some great moments that surprised me with how well they were done. Its not a long game you can finish it in one play session.

You have to move close to start a conversation or interact, which is my one complaint with the game. Additionally, the way the subtitles are sometimes makes you miss a little bit of them. If the game had voice acting in English, it would not have been a problem. If you understand any of the voice options they have, it won’t be a problem for you.
