Dino Trauma is an FPS (First Person Shooter) survival horror game. It features retro graphics inspired by Doom, Quake, Turok, and Dino Crisis. Set in eastern Europe. You play as Grant who is sent into Genomza industries. Your mission is to rescue anyone still alive and to gather info on what happened. You also need to unlock the mysteries of “the gate”. The game will feature three episodes. The first one is available now. The other two will come out at a later date.
The game offers five difficulty levels to choose from: casual, standard, hard, and very hard. For those seeking an extra challenge, there is also an extreme difficulty. with an arsenal of weapons including pistol, SMG (sub machine gun), shotgun and others including a laser.
The game is currently out on Steam in early access
Leveling System
As you finish levels you will acquire points you can use to level up your stats. With each level costing more than the last.
Vitality – Your max health.
Endurance – Your max stamina.
Healing – How much med kits heal you for.
Paleontology – Gives bonus to weapon damage on weak points.
Luck – The description for luck is “affects many elements of the expedition.” I don’t really know what that means. My guess is that you get more ammo and med kits.
Gameplay
As you explore Genomza industries you will have to collect different color key cards to open the corresponding color doors. you will be doing this for each level. the map will show you the color of the doors to help you know what doors you can unlock. This game also has collectibles for you to collect.
Video Tapes – Sometimes you will find a video playing on a TV. The tape is lying there. You can collect it to view it later.
Data – These are entries for the crew to give you insight on what has happened.
Secrets – These are rarer weapons with limited ammo so use them wisely.
I will show you the locations of the secrets in the first level. This way, you will know what kind of things you should look for. The first is a painting that you kick open to reveal the secret. The second is a little orange box that you destroy to open a secret door in the floor.

There are mini games like Video poker, but it’s not really video poker. You just press the button and hope you win. You don’t get to change your hand. Matching memory game where you flip over cards and try to get matches.
When you level to level three you unlock at your base.
Tape viewer – lets you view the tapes you find in the levels.
A shop – lets you spend the points you earn from completing levels to buy ammo, upgrades. And crest’s that are used to unlock special chests.
Crisis monitor – Higher crisis level unlocks new gear, opens new locations, reveals hidden objects and increases score gain. Along with new enemy’s, traps and dangers. You must meet the requirement to increase the crisis level for example have 30,000 points and kill the first boss.
There is also a fun Jurasic Park easter egg to keep and eye out for.
A little tip from me the explosion are bigger than you expect. If you die you have to restart the level so make sure you save in the pause menu. After every level you can move on the next level or return to base to upgrade.
The Dino’s
The main enemy of this game so far is dino’s. I will only go over a few of them. That way, some will still be a surprise. Velociraptor’s and Compsognathus or compy’s are a couple of your basic enemy’s that are throughout the game. There is also a plant enemy that is pretty interesting and a good change of pace from the dino’s. the Triceratops and the

Spinosaurus are some of the rarer enemy’s you will encounter. The Boss of chapter 1 is the one and only.

Tyrannosaurus this fight was pretty fun. You start the level and get loaded up on weapons. Then, you go fight the big boy.
Should You Play?
I say if you don’t mind the retro style graphics than absolutely YES. This game is really fun and broken up into small sections so you can play a little at a time. The movement and gun play feels good and there is a good amount of weapons to play with. The enemies are dino’s and that is fun there is also a good verity of them. There was a couple of times the game did get me to jump. I did not get bored going to collect the key cards every level. The levels are designed well and not really confusing. It feels like the developer genuinely cares about the game. With two more chapters coming, I am looking forward to playing them.
